White Kidney Beans (Cannellini Beans) are great with soups, stews or as a side dish to many meals. Often used in Italian and European dishes this bean is smaller than the traditional kidney bean and white in colour.
Slightly kidney-shaped with squarish ends, cannellini beans are from Italy and are creamy white in colour. When cooked, they have a fluffy texture and a slightly nutty, mild flavour.
Plant the seeds about 20 to 30mm deep and 150 to 250mm apart. Cover and water thoroughly. You should see sprouts in about one to two weeks. As with any beans, it is a good idea to have a pole or some kind support for the butter beans to climb up.
Minimum 15 seeds per packet.
All seeds are tested and grown on our farm in Malawi and our growing area in South Africa. Please check conditions in your area for the type of seed to be grown. Growth rates and germination times are dependent on many factors such as soil conditions, rainfall/watering patterns, climate and many more. Growth and harvest can be affected by these conditions.
